My goal is to empower you to take charge of your life.

Empowerment comes from learning life-changing skills that can be used daily for the rest of your life, no matter where life takes you.

In therapy I generally work with clients to increase their awareness of current thoughts, behaviors and feelings (this is called Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and also Mindfulness Training).  This approach is scientifically validated by numerous research studies, but interestingly, overlaps with many forms of meditation practice.  Quite often, though, we human beings can get stuck in certain thought patterns, and are not able to recognize when our thinking can actually be harmful.  In my work, I help people gain access to their deeply embedded belief systems, and together we begin the work of creating healthier stories and beliefs about ourselves and the world.

People come into my therapy practice for a number of different reasons, such as:  Anxiety, Panic, OCD, Stress, Depression, ADHD, PTSD/trauma, parenting, adoption, grief, relationship difficulties, learning difficulties, college transitions, LGBT support, self-injurious behaviors, trichotillomania/skin picking, communication difficulties, school problems, weight management, self-esteem, and life transitions.  People also come in to increase their self-awareness, achieve more self-confidence, and improve their overall life-experience.

Each person I see is treated as a unique individual, and I work with clients collaboratively to find solutions which best meet their needs and treatment goals.  We decide together the length of treatment, how often we will meet, and what work you might want to do on your own outside of therapy.  I am more than happy to also collaborate with other treatment professionals you may be seeing concurrently.
